Awesome! Looks fun. I took a houseboat trip through the thousand islands when I was a kid, it was one of the best family trips we took. Makes me want to go back soon, maybe this summer!

Great post and pictures! :) My friends and I had a Macaron Tour this weekend. We went to 6 bakeries/patisserie over TO and found we liked Nadege, but loved La Bamboche. Try out their yuzu macaron - divine. ^_^

I could be totally wrong on the price, but I'm pretty certain about it. I got it at LV in Chicago.. Every LV store should have the same price or the foreign currency equivalent.

Looks fun! I've only been to the location on church where they don't have such seating, and it has quickly become my favorite restaurant in Toronto. I'll have to check this place out too!

I used Bixi bike in Toronto Sept. 4, 2011. I grabbed a bike from outside
Toronto Sick Kids. I chose the 24 hour rental period. I read the fine
print several times. Cool, Bixi takes Amex. I rode and rode and rode all
over Toronto: up to Mount Pleasant Cemetery, through parts of Forest
Hill, Hazelton, Bloor and Yonge, etc. etc. I only had it for max 4.0
hours then returned it to the same stand in the same slot without
damage. Jump to my next Amex bill where a whopping $64.00 in Bixi
charges appeared! Are you kidding me. A call to Bixi told me I had NOT
RETURNED MY BIKE EVERY 30 MINUTES TO A STAND even though I had chosen
the 24 hour rental period. Huh? I thought I had the bike for a 24 hour
period. Well, no, that's a lie. You have to check in your bike every 30
minutes and pull it back out. Completely mystifying and puzzling
instructions at the stand did not explain this rule. Further, there are
no Bixi stands outside the downtown core - so when I'm watching the sun
set up in Mount Pleasant, ah, well, that's it - me and my bike and no stand.

They refunded my money (without interest) because 'I was a first time customer".

What a hassle, what a pain, what a lame company with lame rules.

Furthermore, "Roger Plamondon quit on Friday (14Nov11) after five years of involvement with
financially flailing Bixi, confirmed company spokesman Michel Philibert."

I have no idea why Bixi bike is in the public coffers to begin with. Can't you keep a company afloat without a hand out.

Will I rent Bixi again - hmmmm, probably not. I'll go buy a crappy bike,
use it relentlessly without obscure rules, and then hand it off to a
street dude.

The rules are on each machine.. I don't know why people can't see this. Its understandable that its not useful to people outside the Downtown core but I am so its great.
